A Brief Discussion on the Role of Aromatic Hydrocarbon Oil in the Rubber Industry


  Aromatic oil, as an essential additive in the chemical industry, plays different roles in various chemical industries. Today, the Technical Department of Chuanghang Chemical will briefly explain the role of aromatic oil in the rubber industry. Its main function in rubber is to improve the processing performance of rubber, assist in the mixing and dispersion of fillers in rubber, reduce the viscosity of the rubber compound and the energy consumption during mixing, and adjust the physical and mechanical properties of vulcanized rubber.

1. Widely applicable to rubber products made from natural rubber and synthetic rubber.

2. Aromatic oil has good compatibility with synthetic rubber, which can improve tire grip and braking performance, and is widely used in tire production.

3. It is beneficial for filler dispersion and reducing the rubber mixing temperature. It can replace mechanical oil and pine tar products and can be used as a special oil for all-steel radial tires.

4. In tire production, after the rubber compound is extruded into layers, a low white wax content helps maintain the lamination adhesion. It is suitable for natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, polybutadiene rubber, and their composite formulations, with good compatibility, and has excellent effects on the calendering and extrusion processing of rubber compounds.

5. Quality indicators of aromatic oil such as specific gravity, viscosity, and aromatic content have a significant impact on the physical properties of rubber compounds.

6. The lower the aniline point of the oil, the higher the aromatic content. Aromatic content affects the hardness of the rubber compound. High aromatic content can improve the elasticity and durability of rubber. The flash point is an indicator for testing material safety. Current issues with aromatic oil include high moisture content and uneven viscosity, which bring many adverse factors to production.

7. Regarding rubber, high aromatic hydrocarbon content helps improve production efficiency by accelerating mixing through improved oil absorption time. High aromatic hydrocarbon content also provides better carbon black dispersion, helping the product performance achieve better continuous consistency under general process control conditions.
