Under what circumstances and for what reasons can aromatic oil fail?

Regarding the conditions and reasons that cause aromatic oil to fail, the Technical Department of Chuanghang Chemical introduces the following situations:

First is the effect of high temperature: because aromatic oil is exposed to high-temperature environments for a long time, it oxidizes and fails, showing phenomena such as darkening and thickening. At the same time, in high-temperature environments, the corrosive substances inside the aromatic oil increase, such as acidic substances formed during engine operation, and the amounts of carbon deposits, sludge, and varnish in the aromatic oil also increase.

Second is the impact of impurities: if there are too many impurities in the surrounding environment, such as dust, metal wear particles, leaks (fuel, water, etc.), aromatic oil oxides, and substances produced by fuel combustion.

Third is additive failure: some aromatic oils degrade in performance because the additives fail or are used up after being stored for too long. For example, when the anti-wear agents in aromatic oil are used up, the anti-wear performance decreases.

Fourth is viscosity index improver failure: because the long chains of organic molecules break, they no longer have a thickening effect, which directly leads to the failure of aromatic oil.
